Hisham Mundol

Chief Advisor, India, Environmental Defence Fund

Hisham is Chief Advisor in India to the Environmental Defense Fund (www.edf.org) 

In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s strategy in India. This centers on supporting an Indian pathway to shared sustainable prosperity. EDF's priorities are demonstrating the viability of sustainable livelihoods (in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries), partnering to demonstrate shareholder value creation through responsible business, building market-based mechanisms to further climate progress, as well as catalyzing the climate tech ecosystem in India. 

Prior to this, he led the work of Children’s Investment Fund Foundation in India across health, nutrition, adolescence, education, girls & women’s rights and livelihoods, child protection and climate change. Previously, he had also run the National Condoms Programme for the Indian Government’s National AIDS Control Organization and later set up operations in South Asia for Wikimedia Foundation, promoting projects like Wikipedia.

He started his career in sales, marketing, and consulting with Hindustan Unilever, WorldTel, Accenture & Infosys.  Hisham is a management post-graduate and economics graduate.
