Rahul has more than 2 decades of experience in Private Equity, Capital Markets, & Management Consulting. Areas of specialisation covers the entire gamut of Asset Management Business with specific focus on Investment Strategy, Corporate Planning and Business Strategy. Rahul is a veteran of the PE industry and has a distinguished record of leading private equity investments and nurturing entrepreneurial teams

Rahul was part of the overall leadership and a Founding member of Aditya Birla Private Equity involved in conceptualizing and establishing the PE business strategy for the Group, identifying growth areas and business development. Rahul, was an IC member and along with other senior team members responsible for product designing, fund raising, shaping investment strategies, deal origination/structuring and evaluation of investment opportunities.

Before ABPE, Rahul was the founding member at IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd. (IIML) and a member of the team which led the IL&FS Group's entry into venture capital and private equity arena in the late 90s. Playing a pivotal role in building the PE practice at IIML one of India’s oldest and leading private equity firms..

Rahul has steered investments across sectors including retail, media, technology, healthcare, consumer, financial services & manufacturing through their entire life-cycle and has a track of achieving successful exits from investments ranging from start-ups to late-stage growth deals.

As a Board member, he has navigated portfolio companies through economic cycles by providing strategic inputs and playing a central role in cross-border joint ventures, developing growth plans, effecting strategic sales and judicious financial interventions.

Rahul is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai, India.
